5 Tips To Boost Your Mental Health While Working From Home

After a year full of ups and downs, working from home is becoming more and more common, it is therefore so important to maintain good mental health while adapting to this new workstyle.

So let’s begin, here are 5 tips that we can give you in order to boost your mental health while working from home :

1. Take a breath!

Take a moment to relax, breathe and clear your mind… how was that? Feeling better already! While working from home it’s very important to remember to take some breaks, clear your head from working on screens all day! You could even take up a new skill such as learning to draw or playing a new musical instrument!
Doing little things like this will already make you feel so much better, focusing more on yourself, on your happiness, and on your mind, all of these are perfect ways to get ready to go again or to cool off at the end of a long day of work.

2. Keep active!

Keeping active! Despite being at home, it’s important to remember to keep moving! Your usual walks around town or to the office might not seem like much but it all adds up! So get up out of your chair, go for a walk, clean around the house, moving your body will make you feel much more energized and give you that much-needed daily activity. It’s much better waking up ready to go and productive!
Physical activity is exactly what will help you do just that.

3. Eat well!

The next step is focusing on what you eat! It may be tempting to have some snacks while at home, and I can’t say I don't nibble myself sometimes, but changing a piece of cake for an apple, for example, can do you a lot of good! Being at home all day, planning out meals, trying out new recipes, and cooking yourself can be a great therapeutic way to cleanse your mind and body, keeping you active and busy!
Eating well and feeling healthy will help you get through your virtual day, who knows you could even share your recipes with your colleagues making some vital social time!

4. Set your goals!

Setting out a clear path and routine for you to follow will clear up a big amount of stress and anxiety. Not having to worry about forgetting something, or deadlines, a nice clean and visual schedule for your day or week will help you more than you think.
Getting your work done on time, being as efficient and productive as you can is one of the keys to keeping a positive mental state during remote working and in life!

5. Stay Connected

And last but not least. Make sure to stay connected with your friends, family, and colleagues despite the distance. Everyone is missing out on that vital social contact and staying connected through video calls, activities, socials can be so important to make sure you and the people around you keep a good state of mind. Knowing that you are not alone in this situation, laughing and just the simple fact of talking to other people can improve how you feel straight away!
